HSMJ 20 Autumn leaf play

The Home school Mother’s Journal began as a single post on a Friday morning over at The Homeschool Chick, and turned into a link-up for homeschool mothers across the blog-O-sphere to share a piece of their journey with one another each week. The link party is open from Friday to Monday so join me in The Homeschool Journal and lets encourage one another on our homeschool journey.

In my life this week…

In our homeschool this week…
Helpful homeschooling tips or advice to share…
I am inspired by…
The Child Training Bible.

Places we’re going and people we’re seeing…
  • On Sunday we went to the Vet School open Day.
  • On Thursday we went to Melbourne Museum and explored Bugs.
  • On Friday we babysat a wonderful little boy for his mum and dad who were at an expo introducing Melbourne parents to the Mi Bike.  I grew up with this bike and have many happy memories of playing for hours and hours on it.
  • Counting down the months, weeks and days

My favorite thing this week was…

2012 in 2012
  • Read about this idea over at Behind the Scenes and was really intrigued.  I think I will give it a go.  Won't make 2012 I don't think but it will definitely help me de-clutter.

Questions/thoughts I have…
  • How do you heal up from total exhaustion ? {Emotional, Mental and Physical}
Things I’m working on…
  • I'm looking through Education.com for Easter Ideas to do with Sir N next week.
  • I was reading Young Men who love God and am inspired to put the following scripture in a frame in Sir N's room.
Likewise urge the young men to be sensible;  in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach.
I’m reading…
I’m cooking…
I’m grateful for…
  •  The support and encouragement of friends and family.

A photo, video, link, or quote to share…

  1. A good cry always makes me feel better ;) Just taking a break is what I have to do. Even if that means going to the store for a little while just by myself. ((HUGS)) I know that exhaustion and it makes for a hard day for mama. Hope you have a great, relaxing weekend!

    1. Had a few of those recently :) I think our time away should be good. I think you are right I need to be taking more regular time. I might schedule that in once a week when we get back. I do know these things but seem to 'forget" when I am in the midst of life ! Thanks for the encouragement.

    1. It's amazing how quickly that time flies :) It feels like just the other day it was a year away! Now it's a week...

Me ready ?? no :) Will probably pack slowly over the next week far too many other things on my plate to worry about all that.

Anxious and excited. Anxious that I don't forget anything Excited to go for a rest I am so bone wary at the moment and seriously need a break ....

Can't wait to see my sister who still lives in SA !!! As well as my married to family :) Will be good.

  3. How do I heal up? Start small in every area. Make sure I am eating and sleeping enough. Spend time doing a little something I like - like reading a happy fluff book or taking a bath. Being very careful to spend time in God's Word [not a devotional book] and prayer each morning. Little bits add up to a lot.

  4. Oh, Chareen, I'm so sorry to hear that you're suffering from exhaustion. Tiredness can be so depressing. Taking a holiday at home has sometimes worked for me, when I go through a period of sleepless nights, etc. And, stocking up on crafts, books and educational DVDs that the children can do or watch, without a lot of help from me, has been restful, too.

Prayers for you and your holiday together - I hope you all have a wonderful time and a well-earned rest.
    God bless you, Chareen:)

  5. Your question is very interesting. We actually had an excellent sermon that revolved around that, as well as some other issues. The focus was more on the emotional and spiritual, and how human nature does lead us to linger on the negative. Pulling out God's Word on lingering on those good thoughts, and seeking to measure up to God's character, helps put everything back into the correct perspective rather than lingering on doubts and out-of-perspectives thoughts which can delve us into depression.
I've asked for the speaker's notes as it was so good, so happy to share when I have them if you're interested. :)
