HSMJ NOt back to School this week

In my life this week…
I'm really excited about a new movie by Kirk Cameron called Mercy Rule. I have also decided I need at least two more hours in my day.  There is so much I want to do and not enough time to accomplish it in ...  I think I need a supplement.  I am feeling so very tired these days.  Can you recommend one ?

In our home school this week…
  • We started recorder lessons this week. Fun. I'm learning to play too. Pity I can't find the safe spot I put them in last year and now need to purchase new ones ...
  • We have added playing Naughts and Crosses (Tic-tac-toe) between lessons.  I've been caught out a few times going to need to focus more ...
  • N has been really enjoying Science 4 Us this week.  There are some tongue twisting comparison words in science ... Qualitative and Quantitative to name two we learned this week.
  • Level two of Children's Music Journey
  • French.  We have had an interesting start to learning to speak French with Mango Languages.

TR - huge aquarium at The Children's Hospital

BR - Year two on Children's Music Journey

70+ Resources for Valentines Day 2014

It's coming up to Valentine's Day soon.  I've just spent a little time online searching for some more resources to add to my list from last year.

Love is a verb and as such needs action.  I use Valentine's day to remember to tell those I love that I do. A couple of years ago (okay it's more than a couple more like a decade ...) I read the book The 5 Love Languages. This is one of those must read books on my list.  If you have not heard about love languages or how they impact you on a daily basis then please please buy the book and have a read.  I'm pleased to say they have a dedicated website now with loads of Tips and ideas as well as insights.

Here is a video to help clarify the love languages
