HSMJ I have a new ...

In my life this week…
What a day Friday was when my Toshiba AT 300 died :(  It was only six months old.  I was a little anxious as I have an upcoming app I have committed to review and now no tablet.
I took it to the store and they had non in stock so they exchanged it for a Samsung Galaxy Tab2.

In our home school this week…
  • We continued on our creation journey and watched two DVD's. In the Beginning by Sight & Sound and is a visual feast and a spiritual blessing to watch.  I would love to own a full set of these DVD's. We also watched The Bible ... In The Beginning this was produced in 1966.
  • We have continued our week of chronological history by studying biblical history.
  • Sir N has continued his spelling journey with Explode the Code Book 1.

    1. Sight and Sound puts on amazing shows - I had no idea you could watch them in video online! What a tremendous blessing.

      1. Mmmmm I didn't word that right. We did not watch on line. A friend of mine loaned us the DVD and we are in love. I hope to purchase a full set over time :)

    2. Thanks for sharing these links, Chareen. Do you like your new tablet? I've had fun, this week, looking for educational apps for the iPad. The amount of choice is almost overwhelming.

I don't know what is a good bedtime for a seven-year-old but 8 o'clock works well for our 6 year old. We eat dinner quite late so the younger children have a routine of going to bed as soon as dinner is over. It's funny how I love being with them during the day but it's so nice when they're tucked up in bed!

      God bless, Chareen:-)

      1. You are welcome Vicky. The ART app is available on the iPad although it is not free.

My friend recently showed me this great app for younger students and Nathaniel really enjoys it :)

I am impressed with all their apps.

    3. Hey Chareen, really enjoyed this post to get to know your homeschool a bit better. We went to the shrine of remembrance in 2011. Brings Aus history to life. :)

    4. Thanks for sharing the links. I will be checking some of them out.

I find that I really need downtime in the evenings so we put our kids to bed pretty early. We also schedule most of their activities (piano, gymnastics, swimming, art classes) during the day so that evenings are free. Our youngest girls who just turned eight go to bed at 7:00.
